Our Book Printing Philosophy

The philosophy behind Biddles Books

book printersIn reintroducing the Biddles brand to the market in 2013 as a book printing management service our aim was to retain the spirit and ethos of the old manufacturing company, best illustrated in our logo strapline making books better business. Biddles first introduced its printing model Publisher’s Choice in 2005 and in doing so transformed the short-run book printing market. As a book printer at that time we were increasingly dedicated to the needs of the smaller publisher and our staff had an inherent understanding of the challenges and risks associated with the traditional publishing model.

That knowledge and understanding has been retained in the business today which aims to provide advice and practical support, independent of the constraints of an in-house book printer. Our focus is on providing the best possible solutions, working in true partnership with print suppliers who themselves are totally committed to this market sector. Usually smaller printers, although no less technically advanced, their services are not dominated by major publishers whose needs and demands often conflict with those of the independent small publisher – a lesson learnt from the past you might say!

Biddles is now run by Nigel Mitchell, Nicky Prentis and Theresa Loosley who have vast experience in supporting small and self-publishers and combine that with a wide range of industry contacts who can help you decide on the best printing options for your project.
