We have an excellent combination
of young and long serving, experienced craftsmen in Pre-press,
who are flexible and have a broad base of skills and knowledge
to handle most briefs. 95% of work received by Pre-press is
provided in digital format.
Eve Limeburner is Pre-Press Manager and liaises between print and
binding to ensure the job is done correctly, to high quality
and to schedule. The Pre-press team
handle all the digital work that comes in and are there to
help customers with any technical problems in this area.
Biddles
has continued to invest heavily in Pre-press to provide its
customers with a department that is fully equipped with the
right technology to meet their needs. Equipment is constantly
under review to ensure we can offer the most efficient, flexible
methods of book production. Our purpose-built
air-conditioned studio can handle a variety of digitised data, which can be
received either on CD, via Biddles' FTP site or from a customer's FTP site.
Our operators use PCs and the latest Macs, with a full range of software including Adobe Creative Suite, QuarkXPress and PageMaker (up to version 6.5).
Files are pre-flighted and prepared for output from Apogee workstations before
they pass through our Rampage Rip and Fuji Luxel Platesetter.
