What our customers have to say about us

PS Publishing

MPG Biddles has been working with PS Publishing, a growing publishing house producing science fiction, fantasy and horror titles, since they started in 1999 and is sole supplier for their UK book manufacturing requirements.

The books are produced on our Heidelberg sheet-fed presses or Nipson Varypress digital press (depending on run length) with covers being printed on our Xerox iGen3 digital press. Paper is Vancouver Cream 80gsm supplied by MPG Biddles.

Peter Crowther, founder of PS Publishing, explains how the publisher / printer relationship has grown over the years:

“When we started PS Publishing we really had very little knowledge as to what we wanted … or even what was available. We could have encountered a printer who would be content just to sit behind his or her desk and simply give us what we asked for. But what we got was a printer who interacted with us, who considered our needs and our aims and suggested several methods and routes towards achieving those aims.“

“The real key points of the publishing game are not just speed and quality -- though MPG Biddles has them both: they're professionalism and involvement. Those are the elements that can make or break any publishing project. And those are the two elements that MPG Biddles has in ample supply.“

“Over these past seven years or so, PS has gone from strength to strength ... taking four British awards for best publisher for the imprint, some twenty-plus awards for the individual titles and an award for Best Professional on the world publishing stage (that was for me!). Of course, that recognition has a lot to do with the quality of our material and the authors with whom we work (Brian Aldiss, Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke, Stephen King and Peter Straub to name but a very small few) ... but it also has a lot to do with MPG Biddles. And, quite frankly, I'm not sure we'd be in the same position we are today without them.“

"MPG Biddles have shown me outstanding customer service. It took me about a year to actually place business with them because I was busy making my manuscript 'perfect' (as every fanatical author does!). Yet every time I called them with a printing enquiry, they treated me wonderfully."
