Our vision is quite simple - we want to make our customers’ business more efficient and profitable. In return we will provide levels of customer service that are among the highest of any printer in our sector and comparable with the best in any service-led industry.
We offer a one-stop shop book manufacturing service with the ability to produce single, two and four-colour litho books on our Heidelberg sheet-fed presses and superb quality mono books on our Nipson Varypress digital web press. Covers and plate sections can be produced in-house offset on our four-colour Heidlelberg press or digitally on our Xerox iGen3.
We also stock a large range of papers which can be used on either our sheet-fed or digital presses ensuring consistency of production if a book changes from sheet-fed to digital production during its life-cycle.
We produce over 100 titles a week for customers ranging from large commercial publishing houses such as Oxford University Press and John Wiley to first-time publishers, and take great pride in our academic, legal, medical, reference and non-fiction titles.
In fact, Biddles is the only book manufacturer with such a wide range of presses (digital web and sheet fed) and one of the most comprehensive binderies (from paperback and hardback binding with unsewn (cutback), slotted (slot perforated) or sewn options in the UK.
Our approach
We believe in
making our customers feel comfortable with the whole book manufacturing process
We believe in making our customers feel comfortable with the whole book manufacturing process and ensuring that their production runs smoothly and painlessly.
Each project is managed internally by a production controller who works with you from start to finish. We aim to keep jargon to a minimum, advising you along the way and pride ourselves on our reputation for being easy to work with, friendly and very receptive to any challenges provided!
Our staff are experts in their respective fields (many having previously worked in publishing) and enjoy finding solutions to meet our customers' needs and we're proactive in getting the job done to consistently high standards of quality — and to the agreed deadline.
We also understand the importance of deadlines and can
respond quickly to demand. You can even monitor the progress
of your job via our online job tracking system —
Press2Book.
Putting it simply, we offer a complete
service from start to finish.
Cutting edge
We embrace technology
We have the financial stability to
sustain ongoing investment, committing to new technologies
that support our service culture.
We've invested heavily in new technology in recent years — digital presses for shorter runs and
CTP (computer to plate) for higher print quality and reduced
costs for our customers, and a four-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster and Xerox iGen to enable us to manufacture all components under one roof thus minimising turnaround times.
Placing an order is easy through our award winning production management system, Press2Book, where reprints can be placed with just 2 clicks of a mouse which eliminates the extra administration and paperwork caused by ordering multiple reprints and ensures that the books are in production within minutes of pressing the Order button.
Quality without
compromise
We put quality
first
Having combined the latest technology
with the traditional expertise of the craft printer for
decades, we offer excellent quality and added value to
our customers.
We hold the BS EN ISO 9001:2000 accreditation, an
internationally recognised quality management system
standard.
Monitored on a daily basis to ensure our work is consistently
in line with our customers' expectations and the standards
required by ISO 9001, our quality procedures cover all
aspects of our output, ensuring a first-class product
on time, every time.

"I thought you would like to know that the books arrived on time for the dinner, and all 50 were sold. A photo was taken by the local paper of the all the past players present, most of whom were holding the book!
