Biddles has the Forest Stewardship Council’s prestigious ‘Chain of Custody’ certification. The FSC’s Chain of Custody promotes sustainable forestry and implements a system that traces products back to their forest of origin. Accredited companies are required to monitor supply chain conditions and integrate review procedures into their production operations.
This certification allows Biddles to use the internationally-recognised FSC logo on products printed on FSC certified papers, and further widens the range of options available to customers requesting green print.
FSC certified forests are managed to ensure long term timber supplies while protecting the environment and the lives of forest-dependent peoples.

Plates
All our aluminium plates are recycled then cleaned, smelted and reused in industry.
Chemical Waste
All our chemical waste is taken off site by a registered contractor and then recycled. The only exception to this is the chemical waste produced by our CTP system which is neutralised and diluted using the Recomasys system. The waste is then disposed of down the drain under a ‘consent to discharge trade effluent’ permit granted by our local water authority. A monthly sample is taken and sent to Remondis for analysis where records are kept electronically on our behalf.
Paper and Board
We only source paper from mills and merchants who can guarantee sustainable forests.
All waste paper, trimmings and board are collected for recycling.
Pallets
Non-returnable pallets are taken to a recycling company and the wood pulp used in the manufacture of animal bedding and kitchen worktops.
Plastic
Will be segregated and compacted into bales which will then be collected for recycling.
CD-Roms
Used CD-Roms are reprocessed and reused in the manufacture of garden furniture.
Toner cartridges
Toner cartridges used by our Xerox iGen are sent back to the manufacturer for recycling.
Cartridges used in office printers are donated to a charity nominated by staff.
