How to send print ready files to MPG Biddles
There are two ways to send print ready files to MPG Biddles:
1. Send files directly from your MAC or PC using our upload facility below:
Please note you can only upload one file at time so you may prefer to compress all files into a single file first using WinZip or Stuffit. In the Message box please tell us your name and our estimate number (if known).
2. Upload files to our FTP server:
The address for our FTP server is ftp://upload.biddles.co.uk (the IP address if required is 80.68.60.137)
In order to use our FTP server you will need a user name and password from us which will give you access to your dedicated folder on the server. If you require a user name and password then please either send an e-mail to ftp@biddles.co.uk or ‘phone your customer services contact who will be happy to supply you with the details.
Our FTP monitoring software will alert us as soon as your files have been uploaded.
There are many FTP programmes available for both PC and Mac. We have provided guidelines below for programmes / browsers that are commonly used by of our customers and that we can support but you do not have to use one of them to upload to our FTP server:
Instructions using Internet Explorer 6 on a PC
If you have never uploaded to an FTP site using Internet Explorer before then you need to check that it is enabled to be able to do this. To do this go to Tools and Internet Options in the Internet Explorer menu bar and then choose the Advanced tab. Make sure that Enable folder view for FTP sites is ticked under Browsing. If it isn't then tick it and click Apply and OK.
Once you have your login details then type the address ftp://upload.biddles.co.uk in the address bar of Internet Explorer and press Go:
The Log On As box should pop up asking for your user name and password:
Enter the details sent to you by MPG Biddles in the User Name and Password boxes (please note these are case sensitive) and press Log On to connect. You will see an option to Save Password which we recommend you tick if you are going to connect to the MPG Biddles FTP server on a regular basis. If the Log On As box does not appear then in Internet Explorer 6 go to File / Login As and it should pop up.
Locate the file that you wish to upload from your PC and copy it. To upload the file go to Edit and Paste in Internet Explorer and you should see the file copied to your folder on the FTP site. When you have finished close Internet Explorer to log off.
When uploading files please include your MPG Biddles Job Number as part of the file name i.e. 209800_Book_Title. If you have several jobs to upload then please create a new folder for each job (File, New, Folder). If you are not sure what your MPG Biddles Job Number is then please use the ISBN and part of the book title when creating the folder i.e. 9780123456789_Book_Title.
Please note that once files have been uploaded we will require a production order to be sent to us within 24 hours. This can be uploaded to the FTP site at the same time as the files. Work cannot commence on files until an order has been received.
We have software that constantly monitors the FTP server for new files that have been uploaded but we would appreciate it if you could send your customer services contact an e-mail to let them know that you have uploaded files.
